What Is MICRODERMABRASION?

Microdermabrasion is a non-surgical exfoliating procedure for revitalizing and maintaining the skin's appearance and smoothness. It can be used to address problem areas on the face and body. Microdermabrasion treatments enhance your skin's appearance through a course of weekly or biweekly sessions. These treatments combat the signs of aging, improve dull or uneven skin tone, and remove clogged pores and blackheads. Fine lines and age spots can also be improved. Acne scars and stretch marks may be diminished.

Microdermabrasion has long been successfully used in Europe and is now one of the most popular cosmetic procedures in this country. It is a mini procedure that involves the skin being exfoliated by sterile micro-crystals a mild abrasives to remove the top layer of the skin; dead skin cells. This process promotes the production of new cells in the basal (deepest) layer of the dermis.

Microdermabrasion can clean your pores incredibly and hinder any future breaks outs if used on a regular basis.

Microdermabrasion also stimulates collagen net working to further even out skin texture and appearance. Tiny lines disappear and acne scars are dramatically diminished.

GLYCOLIC ACID (Chemical) PEEL

As part of our practice, we offer a therapeutic skin care regimen to our patients including the use of Glycolic Acid peels. Glycolic Acid has been clinically proven to smooth and rejuvenate the skin, improve texture and remove fine lines. It has also been used to treat dermatologic conditions such as acne, sun damage and pre-cancerous skin lesions called actinic keratoses. Research has shown that Glycolic Acid modifies the outer layer of skin called the stratum corneum by acting as a mild exfoliant.

Glycolic Acid may play a role in collagen synthesis and hydration of the skin. The Glycolic Peel is performed in the comfort of our office. For optimal benefit, we suggest a series of 4 to 6 peels, which are performed every 7 to 14 days during the series. Periodic follow up peels may be needed as a maintenance program.

Bio-Dermology™ cellulite treatments work on the principle of vacuum massage by gently rolling and lifting the skin while at the same time mechanically manipulating the tissue with the micro massaging action of the handpiece.
